Michelle Pottle

Michelle Pottle is the senior corporate and creditors’ rights paralegal at Pierce Atwood and supports the Business & Tax Group and the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group. Michelle joined Pierce Atwood LLP in 1998 and now manages the corporate paralegal process in the Portland office. She has extensive knowledge and experience in all procedural aspects of corporate governance and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. Michelle was instrumental in creating and implementing the firm's Janet D. Eustis Memorial Volunteer Time Off Program. Michelle is a member of the firm's Charitable Giving Committee and the Pro Bono Committee.

Michelle works directly with clients and also acts as a liaison between clients and attorneys to ensure client needs and requests are met quickly and efficiently. She prepares formation and organization documents required to establish new corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. She assists attorneys in amendments, qualifications, withdrawals, mergers, acquisitions, conversions, and dissolutions.

In addition, Michelle drafts complaints and related pleadings in collection, foreclosure, eviction, and replevin actions, including motions for attachment and summary judgment and related pleadings. Michelle also attends to registration of foreign judgments and prepares proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, objections to confirmation of chapter 13 plans, notices of hearing, certificates of service, and related pleadings.
