COVID-19: Maine Extends Second Quarter Estimated Tax Payment Deadline to 7/15/2020
Maine Governor Janet Mills recently announced that the second quarter estimated tax payment deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020. The automatic extension applies to estimated payments of the following taxes that were originally due June 15, 2020: individual income tax, corporate income tax, franchise tax, and fiduciary income tax for estates and trusts. The extension also applies to fiscal year filers with estimated or final payments originally due from April 16 through June 15, 2020, for each of the listed taxes.
This extension is in addition to the earlier extension of the state income tax payment and filing deadline from April 15 to July 15, 2020. In its Tax Alert, issued April 30, 2020, Maine Revenue Services reminds taxpayers that the payments and filing due dates for sales and withholding taxes have not changed.
