It has been a busy year for employers! The pandemic has certainly left its mark on workplaces everywhere, with many employers trying to balance the desire to get employees back into the office with the recognition that employees had gotten used to working remotely and may not be eager to return to commuting and working in an office environment. Indeed, we seem to be in the midst of a seismic shift in the way U.S. employees think about work. And a tight labor market, concerns about the U.S. economy, and inflation have added pressure on both employers and employees as well.
At an in-person seminar on November 3, Pierce Atwood's employment group covered the important legal developments of 2022, including:
- New state laws you should know about
- Labor law developments and how they impact non-union employers
- Pay equity and new salary disclosure requirements
- Refresher on accommodating mental health issues in the workplace
- Bringing your employee handbooks into compliance
- Best practices for navigating the hybrid work environment and maintaining employee engagement in the era of “quiet quitting”
