Employee leave continues to create some of the most vexing questions for employers. Because there is no single scheme governing employee leave – indeed, there are many of them created without regard to the others already in place – employers struggle to comply with multiple statutes and regulations, which are sometimes at cross purposes with each other, while keeping their workforces reliably staffed.
While we often cover leave topics at our one-hour breakfast presentations, for our next half-day seminar we thought a more comprehensive look at leave would be helpful:
- TPA Relationships – plusses and minuses of outsourcing your leave administration
- Paid Sick Leave – who, what when, where
- FMLA Abuse – how to spot it, how to prevent it
- Understanding your benefit plan duties before, during and after periods of leave
- Bringing employees back to work from leave under the ADA and/or Workers Compensation
- Disability-Related Leave – some of the unique issues posed by leave as a reasonable accommodation
- Intermittent Leave – what are the limits of the employer’s duty?
- USERRA – doing the right thing the right way for our veterans
- Consequences – what is your exposure when you get it wrong?
This half-day program has been submitted for CLE credit approval.
The program will be followed by a light lunch. Please arrive before 8:30 so we can be sure to conclude in time for lunch at noon.
