Beverly B. Uhlenhake
Government Affairs Consultant
Bev currently serves as Chair of the Maine Democratic Party and is a former mayor of the city of Brewer. As a tireless advocate for the Bangor region, and for development policies that work for both rural and urban parts of Maine, she has a track record of working effectively with both sides of the political aisle.
Through her longstanding tenure as a member of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) Board of Directors and its Public Policy Committee, Bev has worked to promote responsible development, incentivize housing creation, and advance common-sense legislation to correct longstanding inconsistencies in Maine’s land use laws. Her expertise in these issues is rooted in her extensive business experience as a commercial estate broker and development consultant.
Bev has been sought after as a community leader, speaker, and mentor. She has held leadership roles with the Rotary Club of Bangor, the Northeast Workforce Development Board, and Downtown Bangor Partnership. At the University of Maine, Bev served as Faculty in Residence for the National Education for Women Leadership Program through the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center and was a mentor for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.
