Colleen H. Witherell
Colleen Witherell’s practice focuses on patent law including patent prosecution and counseling clients in electrical and mechanical technologies. Her experience includes preparing and prosecuting applications for a variety of industries including power systems, power electronics, battery systems, smart grid systems, mechanical and electrical automotive systems, communications systems and networks, internet technologies, medical implant devices, surgical tools, imaging technologies, and consumer products.
Colleen’s practice also includes advising clients on developing and implementing strategies for protecting IP interests and monetizing IP assets. Colleen has also managed patent portfolio diligence, prepared evidence of use analysis, conducted market research, and drafted monetization strategies.
Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Colleen was an associate at Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC and at McCarter & English LLP. Colleen also served as both a patent agent and patent counsel at Schneider Electric, a $30 billion multinational corporation, where she was the lead patent counsel for two of Schneider Electric’s six global business units. Earlier in her career, Colleen was an engineer at Vicor Corporation.
