Jack S. Bjorn

Jack Bjorn is an associate in Pierce Atwood’s Employment Practice Group.

Jack is experienced in various aspects of labor and employment law, including statutory and regulatory compliance, employer policies and procedures, and claims before the Maine Human Rights Commission and other state and federal agencies. Jack regularly assists clients with general employment compliance issues such as employee handbooks, family and medical leave, employment contracts, wage and hour issues, employee disciplinary matters, and labor negotiations.

In addition, Jack has an active practice preparing qualified domestic relations orders to divide employee retirement benefits for individuals going through divorce.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Jack was an associate at Eaton Peabody, where he also counseled clients in employee benefits, executive compensation, retirement benefit divisions, and maintenance of tax-qualified retirement plans as well as plans for tax-exempt and governmental entities.

During law school, Jack served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gary Hicks of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Paul Barbadoro of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. Jack was also the chief notes editor of the University of New Hampshire Law Review.

A Maine native, Jack loves spending time with his family and two dogs, golfing, volunteering, and photographing Maine’s coastal landscapes and wildlife.
