Peter A. Hale
Peter Hale is an experienced employment law attorney providing counsel and representation to employers on issues involving hiring, performance management, termination, wage and hour laws, restrictive covenants, workplace harassment, discrimination, and other evolving labor and employment issues.
Pete also assists clients with issues concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, Fair Labor Standards Act, FMLA and state leave laws, non-competition and restrictive covenants, and employment agreements.
Pete has successfully defended clients in a wide range of employment matters in arbitration, in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies across the country.
Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Pete was a shareholder and former co-chair of the labor and employment group at Bernstein Shur. Before that, he was a commercial litigator at a prominent Boston-based law firm, and an employment attorney at Littler Mendelson, the world’s largest labor and employment law firm.
Before starting his law career, Pete served as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy stationed on warships based in Italy and Virginia during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
When he is not busy with his law practice, Pete spends time with his wife and two daughters, enjoys the outdoors running, golfing, and skiing, and is an accomplished oil painter.
