Taylor D. Johnson

Taylor Johnson is an associate in Pierce Atwood’s Employment Practice Group. Taylor helps clients navigate state and federal employment laws and regulations including the ADA, Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, and related state laws.

In addition to assisting employers with a wide variety employment law matters, including severance agreements, employee handbooks, employment contracts, training, and performance management, Taylor has obtained favorable results for clients in disputes related to such laws including in pre-litigation negotiation and mediation, agency proceedings, and litigation.

Taylor also regularly advises clients on compliance with state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) matters. He represents employers’ interests in citations and investigations under federal OSHA and state plans across the country.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Taylor was an associate at Keller & Heckman LLP, in Washington, DC where he focused on OSHA and employment law matters for a variety of clients. He co-hosted a podcast covering monthly developments in OSHA law, was frequently quoted in OSHA trade press, and gave talks related to occupational safety and health compliance across the United States and Europe.

During law school, Taylor was a legal intern for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, as well as Legal Services for Northen Virginia. Prior to law school, he was a lobbyist in the Vermont State House working on various public interest matters.

When Taylor is not working, he enjoys playing golf, spending as much time as possible with his wife and young children, and coaching his daughter’s soccer team.
