2020 World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000 Recognizes Jonathan Gelchinsky and Pierce Atwood’s Trademark Practice Group
For the ninth consecutive year, Pierce Atwood partner and Trademark Practice Group leader Jonathan Gelchinsky has been recognized by the World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000, the only stand-alone ranking publication to focus exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners. Jonathan has once again received WTR 1000’s silver ranking in "Enforcement and Litigation" and "Prosecution and Strategy." Clients note that Jonathan is, "a capable lawyer who gives commercial and sensible advice. He is a true business partner in every sense, sticking with the company through thick and thin.” WTR 1000 adds, “Leading the team at Pierce Atwood, Gelchinsky is a trademark maven with skills that span the contentious/non-contentious divide.”
In addition to Jonathan’s individual recognition, the firm’s Trademark Practice Group has been recognized for the first time, based on its trademark work for some of the world’s most well-known brands. As noted in WTR 1000, Pierce Atwood is “the go-to for some heavyweight brands, including Caterpillar, whose Solar Turbines portfolio it manages, Bauer Hockey, which it assists on trademark search, clearance, maintenance, and enforcement, and Titleist Golf, on whose behalf it litigates.”
According to World Trademark Review, “individual practitioners, law firms, and trademark attorney practices qualify for inclusion in the WTR 1000 solely on receiving sufficient positive feedback from market sources.” WTR conducts “extensive” research consisting of “over 1,500 face-to-face and telephone interviews with trademark specialists across the globe.”
