Elizabeth Frazier and Sara Murphy Named Pierce Atwood Partners

Pierce Atwood LLP is pleased to announce that firm attorneys Elizabeth M. Frazier and Sara A. Murphy have become partners in the firm. 

Elizabeth Frazier focuses her practice on government relations, lobbying, business advocacy, and environmental and land use policy. As an advocate and lobbyist for businesses, Elizabeth helps clients bridge the gap to Maine’s local and state government. Her nuanced understanding of Maine politics and her pragmatic approach to policymaking allow Elizabeth to elevate her clients’ interests above the political fray.

Elizabeth is often asked to speak to Maine’s business leaders on policy issues related to Maine’s housing crisis, commercial and residential development in the state, and the need for strong public advocacy. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from University of Maine School of Law, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in History from Trinity College.

Sara Murphy focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and class action defense for clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, health care, energy, insurance, and professional services. Sara regularly appears in state and federal courts where she represents clients in disputes such as breach of contract, unfair trade practices, RICO claims, and other business-related torts.

Sara also provides significant pro bono legal services to Maine CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in complex child protection cases, was appointed by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court to serve as a commissioner for the Maine Civil Legal Services Fund, and received the firm’s Scribner Firm Impact Award for her work as the founding member of Pierce Atwood’s Racial Justice Initiative.  Sara received her J.D., summa cum laude, from University of Maine School of Law, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from University of Southern California.
