In Excessive Force Suit, Verdict Seen as Hinging on Credibility

Pierce Atwood partner Mike Daly, and former firm associate Ron LaRocca, recently won a jury verdict in a police brutality case brought against two Pawtucket police officers.  The case was tried in the Rhode Island federal court in April 2017, with the decision hinging on the credibility of the officers involved.  The matter came to Mike and Ron through the federal court’s civil pro bono program and it is the first program case to proceed to trial since the program was started in July, 2014.
