“Immigrant and Employee Rights”: Katie Nokes Minervino on Faculty at 2018 AILA Employer Compliance and Worksite Enforcement Conference

Immigrant and Employee Rights (IER) is the agency responsible for reviewing discrimination complaints in the hiring process, and many of these complaints arise due to the I-9 and E-Verify processes.  Immigration law partner Katie Minervino participated in a panel discussion covering topics including:

• Overview of IER and its jurisdiction
• How discrimination can arise in the I-9, E-Verify, and reverification processes
• Overview of key technical assistance letters and how to use them in advising clients
• Recent investigations and penalties issued

For more than ten years, Katie Minervino’s practice has focused exclusively on employment-based immigration law, helping employers and employees create and execute immigration strategies to meet their short- and long-term immigration needs. Katie is also the AILA Verification & Documentation Liaison Vice Chair.
