John Bulman and Gavin McCarthy Panelists at 2015 Construction SuperConference
Pierce Atwood is pleased to announce that John Bulman and Gavin McCarthy will be panelists at the 2015 Construction SuperConference to be held December 7-9, 2015 in San Diego, California.
Please join our attorneys in these programs:
John E. Bulman, a partner in the firm's Construction Practice Group, will participate in a discussion titled, The New AAA Construction Industry Rules, where panelists will review changes to the American Arbitration Association Construction Industry Arbitration Rules adopted in June 2015. Attendees will learn about the issues and problems the amended rules address, and how to effectively apply the new rules in current and future arbitrations.
Gavin G. McCarthy, a firm litigation partner, will join a discussion titled, The "Common" but Un-Manifested Defect: Implications of the Growing Construction Defect Class Action Movement. Over the last few years, a large and growing number of class actions have been filed alleging a “common” defect in all of a particular construction product sold to consumers. In these collective actions on behalf of all consumers that brought the product, the plaintiffs generally seek tens of millions of dollars for the aggregate diminution in value said to be attributable to the “common” defect whether or not any problem has manifested with a particular person’s product. This panel of in-house and outside counsel will discuss some of the unusual issues raised by these cases and their implications for the construction industry
This conference is recognized as the preeminent construction conference for mid- to senior-level professionals who work in any of the legal and commercial construction markets. For more information, please visit the 2015 Construction Superconference event site.
