Peter Guffin on Faculty of Practising Law Institute’s “Fundamentals of Privacy Law 2018”
In the session on Information Security Program Basics, Peter will provide an overview of the major sources of law in this area and discuss the common themes and approaches to regulation. Together with Chris Bender, a cybersecurity expert, he also will examine the key components of an information security program, including risk assessments and incident response planning, and discuss the key areas in which lawyers get involved. Attendees will also learn practical tips, including ways in which to interact with technical experts..

Guffin is Chair of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Practice Group, Visiting Professor of Practice at the University of Maine School of Law and co-director of the school’s Information Privacy Law Program, and a frequent author and speaker on the subject of privacy law, cybersecurity, governance, and compliance.
