Pierce Atwood Hosts World Affairs Council of Maine and the Bulgarian Ambassador to the US, Elena Poptodorova

Pierce Atwood was proud to host the World Affairs Council of Maine and Ambassador Elena Poptodorova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United States, in her presentation, “Bulgaria: Crisis on Two Fronts – the Middle East and Russia.”

The Ambassador played a key role in helping align a newly-democratic Bulgaria with the U.S., and ultimately achieved NATO and EU membership. Bulgaria now is on the front lines of many globally sensitive points, including the refugee crisis and Russian neo-expansionism.
