When Employees Can't Work: Managing FMLA Leave and ADA Accommodations - Suzanne King Speaker at NBOA Annual Meeting
For the second year in a row, Pierce Atwood Employment Law partner Suzanne King participated in the "Goldmines" session at the NBOA 2018 annual meeting, discussing the federal laws that protect employees who are unable to work or who need job modifications for medical reasons. She shared best practices for dealing with difficult leave and accommodation issues such as the overlap of FMLA and state leaves, the challenge of administering intermittent and long-term leaves, and how to manage the interactive process under the ADA.
According to its website, NBOA, the National Business Officers Association, is the “only association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff, and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools.”
