Sonia J. Buck
Sonia Buck focuses her practice on transactional work in debt finance and restructuring.
Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Sonia was a senior attorney at Brock & Scott, PPLC in Portland, Maine where she focused on commercial default workouts, loan modifications, mortgage foreclosures, corporate power of sale transfers, lien enforcement, and bankruptcy.
Before that, Sonia was a partner at Linnell, Choate, & Webber in Auburn, Maine where she handled commercial loans and real estate transactions, as well as the collections side of debtor-creditor law.
Before law school, Sonia was a paralegal in Pierce Atwood’s Business Practice Group, where she coordinated complex real estate and loan transactions, organized closings, and handled bankruptcy filings and mortgage foreclosures. She also handled the pro bono bankruptcy cases for the Volunteer Lawyers Project.
Sonia is a frequent speaker and author for the National Business Institute. She received their Outstanding Faculty Award in 2022 and 2023.
Sonia is also a trained mediator and has significant experience mediating foreclosure cases, construction disputes, and other real estate matters.
